Find Place	Augusta Raurica
Find Context	According to H. Nesselhauf and H. Lieb the inscription had originally been a gravestone and was later reused as building material. In the 18th century it was found in Augusta Raurica near Castelen bey den Neun Thürnen, which were the rear retaining walls of the theatre, about 2m underground. After its discovery the stone was taken away and stored in the house of a shoemaker in Augsta Raurica, where it remained built into the house wall for several years. On the 28th of April 1780 the inscription was bought by the art collector Daniel Burckhardt. The inscription is now lost and is only preserved through a drawing made by Daniel Burckhardt which at the moment is not accessible but it was viewed and descripted by Stählin in February 1947 and it's also the only source available on the inscription's condition and dimensions, according to López Sánchez
