Further Information

Comment

Monument previously regarded as Christian. According to Canto. the dedicatee was a follower of a mystery religion. An inscription with almost the same text is known from Rignano (Etruria), see MPL01563. According to A.M. Canto, the inscription from Niebla is a duplicate of the one from Rignano: Fabatus died in Baetica and he was given a cenotaph in Niebla, while the actual gravestone was erected in Italy.
