Main Translation

Translation Here lies a young and devoted mother. To the Manes and to the memory of Varia Restituta.

Farewell, Varia Restituta, a most charming name to me, once my dearest and much beloved wife, a woman of rare and extraordinary nature, of pure chastity, of utmost modesty, whose memory lives on after her death. She lived twenty-six years, five months and twenty days. Farewell way too soon.

Titus Varius Myrismus, her husband, sevir Augustalis of Lugdunum, made this while still alive also for himself.
Citation Fabio Spalla
