Decoration

Decoration and Iconography The mosaic beneath the inscription shows a young woman in the nude, Europa, riding sideways on Jupiter transformed into a bull. She is accompanied by two erotes, one leading the bull while the other pulling its tail. The scene is set against a white background, while a black section implies water. The inscription is written across the top of the scene, and both are framed by a plain guilloche in white and red.
