Apparatus

Text follows Hamdoune 2016, 195.
l. 1: cfr. Verg. Aen. 3, 368 (quidve sequens tantos possim superare labores?).
l. 3: X probably stands for Christ.
l. 4: perhaps the symbol of a crown was engraved at the end of this line replacing the word "coronam" as a part of the verse (cfr. Hamdoune 2016, 199).

Main Translation

Translation He who was able to overcome all obstacles of this work, and decorate an ample dwelling with various mosaic tiles, in order to arrange the immensity of Christ with the largeness of the house, he, cheerfully, will soon receive the deserved crown with the praise, so that he will keep his fame and obtain his award.
