Main Translation

Translation To the Spirits of the Departed. If the spirits of the Underworld exist, let them listen to us: you had been the hope of our life, but now, who you are and where you are buried, this gravestone indicates it. The brother Lucius Spurennius Herculanus and the mother Flavia Paula set up this monument to Lucius Spurennius Rufus, trumpeter of the cohors Mattiacorum, who served 20 years in the army and well deserved (this tribute). Farewell travellers.
