Main Translation

Translation Here lies that whom the Greek Camenes shall often lament. Enslaved by destiny, freeborn by nature, though the tender right hand of his kind master Placidus, quickly turned him into a Roman and a tribesman. He was born in the wine-growing Lydian lands of the Tmolus, the joyful soil of Lycian Cragos now covers him.
