Main Translation

Translation Quintus Statius Murranus made this for his companion Spendo, slave of Caius Statius Paterculus.

When Spendo had already reached twice the age of eight years and, snatched away by destiny, he was buried in this grave.

Comment

Dating proposed by Hirschfeld. Cholodniak proposes a dating to the reign of Trajan without criteria, while Pena narrows the date range down to the end of the 1st century AD.
