Main Translation

Translation To the Manes. Her faithful husband made this for Glypte, an excellent wife.

Here lies Glypte, such sweet name, who once stood out among the best whom Venus set her eyes upon, who was by all considered honourable and a modest, with her delightful talk and gentle words. If you were talking of ponderings, she would carry the winner's palm branch; if talking of beauty, no one would deny it. A most evil, wretched, horrible day stole these many great treasures from us.
