Decoration

Decoration and Iconography In the centre of the sarcophagus there's a relief depicting the tomb owner, a physician, seated and holding an open scroll. In front of him stands a cabinet; on top of it are visible several tools, probably related to his profession. The cabinet doors are open, revealing what appears to be additional scrolls and a basin (The Metropolitan Museum of Art, no. 48.76.1).
