                <p>Lucius Mummius, son of Lucius, of the Fabian voting tribe, from Ancyra, soldier of the 7th legion, lived for 36 years, served for 16, lies here.
He who bore fortunate arms for sixteen years.
Here he lies, Mummius himself, by his own Fate.
If the dead know of the gifts given to them, you see them in abundance and you receive proof of our friendship.
Cornelius Chrestus put this up, with an inscription, for you and he, crying, said: “may the earth be light for you”.
Marcus Cornelius Chrestus, freedman of Marcus, put [this] up.</p>
