Caius Iulius Cai filius Fabia Ninica miles legionis VII annorum XXXIX stipendiorum XVII hic situs est. Hospes resiste et tumulum contempla meum. Lege et moratrus, iam scies, quae debeas. Vixi qua potui; carus sumo deorum hic sum sepultus hic ossua requiescum mea. Vale et bene facito vitae dum fatum venit. Faustus libertus patrono.

Caius Iulius, son of Caius, of the tribus Fabia, from Ninica, soldier of the 7th legion, aged 39, in his 17th year of service, is placed here. Oh guest, pause at this mound, read and stay, you will know what you must know. I lived as I could, dear to the gods. Here I am buried, here my bones will rest.
