                <p>To the Manes, and to the eternal rest of Toutius Incitatus, sevir Augustalis of Lugdunum and boatman on the Saône. Toutius Marcellus, his freedman, has put this up while still alive and dedicated it under the ascia for his most benevolent patron, as well as cloth-dealer in Lugdunum, with the honours that befit this position, and grain dealer; and to himself.

Whoever reads this and delivers good prayers to my spirits of the Underworld, I wish that they may live happy and merry.</p>

Toutius Marcellus, son affranchi, à son excellent patron et pour lui-même, a, de son vivant, élevé ce tombeau et l&#39;a dédié sous l&#39;ascia. - Vis heureux et joyeux, passant qui liras ces lignes et souhaiteras du bien à mes Mânes.</p>

                <p>A los dioses Manes y al descanso eterno de Toutio Incitato, séviro augustal de Lyon, marinero del río Saone. Toutio Marcelo, liberto, para su queridísimo patrono, centonario en Lyon con los honores propios, comerciante del trigo, y para sí mismo en vida lo erigió y dedicó bajo el ascia. Deseo que vivas veliz y alegre, si es que lees esta inscripción y le expresas buenos deseos a mis Manes.</p>

                <p>Dating proposed by Comarmond. Liu and Schmidts propose a dating between the second half of the 2nd century and the 3rd century AD, though without providing any criteria.</p>
