Dis Manibus Sacrum. Ephebo Luci Caesieni Firmi servo, vixit annis XXV, Acceptus pater et Luperca mater, vivi filio bene merenti, et Primigenius fratri optimo posuerunt. Si non fatorum praepostera iura fuissent, hoc titulo mater debuit ante legi. Sit tibi terra levis.

Sacred to the Manes. To Ephebus, slave of Lucius Caesienus Firmus, who lived twenty-five years, his father Acceptus and his mother Luperca have dedicated this while still living to their exceptionally deserving son, and Primigenius has dedicated it to his excellent brother. If the laws of destiny had not given in to absurdity, one would have read first of his mother in this epitaph. May the earth be light upon you.
